I Miss Spring!!!!
What happen to the warm weather. I had 3 glorious days of warmth, capris, playing outside, even allergies!! Then just when I am lulled into a false sense of security that the stupid groundhog was finally wrong, snow, not a lot but still I was ready for spring. So since I can't stomp my foot on a blog I choose to rebel and pretend it's spring, or at least relive what beautiful weather was like. Kanarra Falls 2008- Now this was fun. Kanarraville is this tiny little town (about 30 houses) about 20 miles south of Cedar and there is this great hike that follows the creek up to a slot canyon with a couple of cool waterfalls. See how warm it looks. We had to wear sunscreen, and pack water and snacks, we got totally wet in some places. At one point the kids decide to make us all laugh by re-enacting the scene from Jurassic Park, you know the one, where Dr. Grant grabs the fencing and screams and shakes like he's being electrocuted: We have the funniest kids! I can't even remember Andrew fighting with anyone. The great outdoors seems to ease the kids tempers. Just one more reason to love springtime. When the kids start fighting you can just send them outside, which is where they really want to be anyway.Look at how he is ready to hike, with his hat and water bottle strapped to his back, and he's not even hitting anyone! Miracles happen in warm weather. Of course, when I have had a series of hot, hot days near the end of the summer, and the kids have been out of school long enough to make me want to pull all of my hair out, then.. and only then, I will be begging for fall.
