Huntington Beach

We took the kids to Huntington Beach while we were in California. We walked down the pier and saw some cool birds that liked to poo on people just standing there looking up. It was funny, we lucked out and stayed clean.

Found a little kite shop that had some funny signs. and Andrew wanted to go back in warmer weather and fish off the pier. It was a little cold, so no getting in the water. The kids walked on the beach and were jazzed to find some shells and we got to see a cool percussion band playing along with some spray paint artists doing their thing.

The Magic Kingdom

So Sean and I had planned to go to Disneyland for our 15th anniversary. That's a long time, and I never got a honeymoon, and while we have taken the occasional weekend for ourselves, this trip was going to be a week long vacation in the magic kingdom. Two days before leaving we decided we couldn't do it. We couldn't go all the way the way to Disneyland and not take the kids. Only we didn't tell them! we made like we were going to leave and sent them off to school with instructions to behave for Cyndie while we were gone, we went home and packed them up and then picked them all up on the way out of town! Reactions were mixed, Andrew and Brooke didn't believe us, "Ya right. I don't think so!" Andrew said, the younger ones were happier but noone screamed or jumped for joy. Weird kids.
So here we sit taking a day off, we spent all day Saturday at the parks, rode every ride we could and got a little rained on. Totally okay because that meant no waiting in lines!!! Can I just say that taking your kids to the happiest place on earth does not ensure they will; not fight, not whine, not complain, not drive me nuts. A little voice in my head is laughing and telling me I should have left them home!! Well I can just hope they were cranky from traveling right? And that the next 2 days in the park will go better. I mean at some point they will realize the amount of money we are spending right? They will get that this doesn't happen that often and won't happen again for a few years? Maybe i can just sedate them and leave them in the hotel and me and Sean could just go:-)
